We all know that people learn in different ways, at North Wales Training we offer an alternative to full time classroom based learning. We have both military and non-military type courses to engage with young people.

On the military course we are not trying to turn young people into soldiers. Rather, we simply use the best aspects of the military system and ethos to teach young people the value of being responsible for their actions, of doing on their own the work that needs to be done, and of working with others toward a common purpose.

Celebrating the success of our learners is so important.

North Wales Training are approved on the TRAC framework of suppliers

TRAC is an innovative project which has been developed to provide bespoke engagement and learning programmes for young people at risk of becoming NEET across North Wales. This is a framework, from which TRAC Co-ordinators from each county can purchase accredited learning programmes for young people aged 11-19.

This programme involves a variety of activities and strives to create engagement that will enable young people to develop their own particular learning pathway, and in doing so achieve accreditation. This success will give them ambition to succeed, achieve their full learning potential and remain in education, training or employment.

Aims of the Project

  • To prevent young people in this programme from becoming NEET.
  • Provide additional support to engage and sustain participation.
  • To engage with young people in key stage 3 and 4 focusing on those who may potentially become NEET.
  • For all who participate to have support to identify a realistic, achievable and sustainable learning pathway of lifelong learning and achieve their potential.
  • To increase participation rates in education, employment and training.

If you represent a school and are looking for engagement activities for your learners using the TRAC funding and would like to discuss what North Wales Training could offer; please feel free to contact Martin Craven - Operations Manager for Youth Engagement - 01492 543431
