Year 11 - Preparation for Work Experience

(Attending 1 day a week - 7 Weeks)

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for Year 11 pupils who are more vocationally focused and may not be accessing full time curriculum provision.


The course is intended to prepare pupils to engage in longer term (1 day per week for up to 7 weeks) Extended Work Experience or for employment when they leave school.


What activities will learners do?


Pupils will attend training sessions in preparation for going into work experience placement, during this time they will engage in activities designed to prepare them for entering the ‘world of work’.


This will include team working skills, managing money, Key Skills, workplace health and safety, employer expectations and first impressions.
